RedBrick Ground Breaking

Posted On September 7, 2012

The backdrop of RedBrick’s ground breaking included a beautiful April afternoon and one of the excavators ready to start the large scale digging. Helping with the excavation were 5 of the 8 City Counsellors. (Councillor Calendina, Councillor Johnston, Councillor Jordan, Councillor Kang and Councillor McDonnell). Speaking on behalf of the City Councillor McDonnell graciously acknowledged Amacon’s thorough work and efforts to work hand in hand with the City of Burnaby to create “this magnificent new community.” His comments supported the belief that Amacon is diligent in bringing well thought out homes and amenities in every project they do. He made note of Amacon’s recent mixed us project on SE Marine Drive including the award winning McGregor town home community and the New Haven Business Park, acknowledging the high quality of product both in residential and commercial and the transformative nature that Amacon has had on Burnaby’s south slope.

“As a long standing City Councillor and nearby resident of the Edmonds area I am excited to see this new community under way. Amacon has spent a great deal of time working with the City of Burnaby to make this site happen. We are confident in the work that Amacon will do here and that the owners at RedBrick will be happy with the homes they move into” said Councillor McDonnell.

Amacon expects to begin full scale excavation this month. When complete, RedBrick will be home to 245 families in one, two and three bedroom homes. Featuring extensive residential amenities including fitness room, social lounge, meeting and craft rooms, an outdoor BBQ area and a foot path throughout the property, RedBrick offers home types and amenities for every stage of life.
